Procedure

The procedure for blepharoplasty will vary depending on the type of procedure that is being performed. However, there are some common steps that are involved in all blepharoplasty procedures.

The surgeon will make an incision in the eyelid, either in the crease of the eyelid or inside the eyelid.
The surgeon will then access the fat, muscle, and skin of the eyelid.
If excess fat is present, the surgeon will remove it.
If excess skin is present, the surgeon will remove it.
If excess muscle is present, the surgeon may remove it.
The incision will then be closed with stitches or staples.
